15 homes are too many, say Planning

The Planning and Environment sub-committee met on site at Le Clos Hurel, Route de Noirmont, yesterday to consider Dandara’s revised plans for 14 four-bedroom and one, three-bedroom dwellings, all with conservatories and garages.St Brelade No 1 Deputy Sarah Ferguson, and a dozen residents representing the many who had objected to the application, also attended along with the applicant, their architects and landscape architect.Although Planning have not ruled out any development on the site they felt the proposals before them would be an over development which was out of character with the surrounding area.

They also felt the development would constitute a far more dense ratio of houses on the land than existed in neighbouring estates.Assistant planning director Peter Le Gresley said: ‘In comparison to the particular characteristics of the area and existing developments, the committee felt the plans did not reflect the area and the mix of housing types and styles of the area.’
