St Lawrence backs land purchase for parish hall

A proposal to investigate purchasing an area of land to the north of the hall to allow for the development was approved, with one abstention, on condition that an assembly would be held before anything went to court to approve the details of the purchase.

The Constable, Geoffrey Fisher, stressed to the 50 parishioners at last night’s assembly that their agreement was not being sought for an extension to the parish hall, but for an in-principle decision to purchase land currently owned by the States.

The land, if bought, could be used for an extension and for extra parking, he said.
