No secrecy over debate on deal, Members urged

The issue involves the handing over of an area of waterfront land to a private company as part of an out-of-court settlement.A number of Members have indicated that they will oppose holding the debate in camera when the matter goes before the House on 16 September.

It was made public yesterday that a deal has been agreed between Les Pas Holdings Ltd and the Policy and Resources Committee which means that, if the States agree, the company will be given a prime waterfront site measuring 66,887 sq ft on which to build at least 100 three-bedroom apartments.
