The award, given by the Jersey branch of the National Union of Journalists in memory of the late Norman Le Brocq, a former Deputy and tireless social justice campaigner, was presented to a delighted Mr Patterson at the Royal Hotel by Mr Le Brocq’s widow, Rosalie.Mr Patterson, chairman of the Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled, was nominated for the years he has spent encouraging the disabled to take part in sport as a way of reaching their true potential.Mr Patterson, who is partially sighted, set up the organisation 18 years ago, starting with a membership of eight, which has increased over the years to more than 800.
