Sarah Jones and James Connelly won the LTA’s Road to Wimbledon County 14 and under girls and boys finals which were played at Les Ormes at the weekend and will be travelling to SW19 for the National finals being played from 18-23 August.
‘Sarah and James are members of our junior performance squads and have both worked very hard in the run-up to this competition,’ head of junior tennis at Les Ormes, Joe Keany, said.He added: ‘We are very proud of them and they are extremely excited at the prospect of playing at the All England Tennis club.’In the final on Sunday Jones beat Francesca Dubras of Jersey’s Caesarean Tennis Club 6-4, 6-4 and Connelly beat Guernsey junior Alastair Higgins, a member of King’s Club,6-0, 6-0.
