A man has been charged with 40 sexual offences after an investigation into alleged abuse at former children’s homes.
Bruce McClean, 61, from Runcorn, has been charged with offences including buggery, attempted buggery and indecent assault, a spokesman for Cheshire Police said.
The charges relate to allegations of abuse at the Taxal Edge Children’s Home in Derbyshire between 1975 and 1978 and the Kilrie Children’s Home in Knutsford, Cheshire, between 1980 and 1991.
They relate to eight alleged victims.
McClean is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on February 26.
