‘MEASURING what matters’ will be the focus of next week’s IoD Jersey panel discussion, which encourages businesses to consider how they can drive meaningful change in their organisations and, in turn, support local and global ESG improvements.

Sponsored by RBS International, next Tuesday’s event at the Royal Yacht Hotel is designed to give a high-level overview of legal and regulated ESG requirements, while looking at how legislation is expected to evolve and discussing how non-regulated sectors could adopt such measures where appropriate.

Discussion will also focus on how, collectively as an island, all organisations can feed into the local targets to ‘ensure an Islandwide approach, while recognising the different stages each business is at’.

Introducing the panel discussion will be IoD chair of the environment sub-committee, Elaine Walsh.

The panel comprises Dr Roger Barker, director of policy and corporate governance for the Institute of Directors, RBS International director and ESG lead Bradley Davidson, Assistant Minister for the Environment Hilary Jeune, JT Group general counsel and head of sustainability Gill Knights, Jersey Finance sustainable finance lead David Postlewaite and True Ltd commercial director Michelle Ryan.

Natasha Egré, chair of IoD Jersey, said: ‘We all understand the need to make changes to bring about change for our environment, but this event hopes to avoid what is often a piecemeal approach by organisations and instead create meaningful and measured change for the benefit of us all. I’m very much looking forward to listening to the discussion.’

Susan Fouquier, managing director of institutional banking at RBS International, added: ‘We are very pleased to be sponsoring this event, which sees an excellent panel for what is not only an important topic, but also promises to provide practical, data-driven solutions for our organisations and for Jersey.’

Tickets for the event, which runs from 12.15 to 2.15pm, are available from eventbrite.co.uk/e/esg-measures-that-matter-tickets-386908623107?aff=erelpanelorg.
