Netball: Jets battle for first league win

After a heavy loss to Telstars three weeks ago, Jets were keen to claim maximum points at Fort Regent, but they were forced to come from behind in the final three minutes after twice relinquishing comfortable leads. They finished 47-44 in front.

‘The way the girls kept fighting was really pleasing, they didn’t let their heads drop,’ said head coach Linda Andrews.

‘I’m so proud of them all. They’re under enormous pressure this year, the new girls and the regulars, but they held together and pushed on until the end.’

The win moves Jets up to fifth in the early table, four points behind the top four.

Reaction and report in Monday’s JEP.
