Recall to Island squad after 20 year gap

FORMER Muratti midfielder Peter Grierson has been included in Jersey’s football squad to face Ireland’s Sligo Rovers at Springfield next month – 20 years after his last game for the Island!

FORMER Muratti midfielder Peter Grierson has been included in Jersey’s football squad to face Ireland’s Sligo Rovers at Springfield next month – 20 years after his last game for the Island!

The 42-year-old Liverpudlian, a former professional in Australia and in Asia with Brunei, is a regular for Trinity in the Jersey Football Combination Championship and his performances have won him a call up to face the League of Ireland champions.

My memory might be failing me but I'm sure we had colour photography way back in 1993... or is this the JEP trying to do a temps passe sort of thing to help all us stupid readers understand that 1993 was 20 years ago??!!!
