Three times this summer the blue riband event of Channel Islands rowing has fallen foul of dangerous weather conditions, with the latest and final scheduled attempt for the year being called off last week.
Undaunted, Martin Willis (71) took 3 hr 30 min to pull his way from Dixcart Bay in Sark to Bonne Nuit Bay, with Michel Tréhorel (68) finishing just ten minutes later, although the duo were not racing each other, but rather Old Father Time.
