Rugby: Jersey will ‘have a go’ at Quins

The Islanders, with 20 new faces in their squad, have been building steadily towards the Championship opener against Doncaster Knights on 2 September, and tomorrow they face their toughest test yet.

Defeat in Vannes was followed by victory over Coventry last weekend, but the Reds know a team filled with internationals is likely to confront them at The Stoop tomorrow.

The Quins, who boast players such as Chris Robshaw, Mike Brown, Kyle Sinkler, Joe Marler and Jamie Roberts, have beaten Bristol and London Irish in the last fortnight and will want to finish their own pre-season programme with a flourish.

New signing Jared Saunders will captain the Reds from the front row.

Full preview in Friday’s JEP.
