Rugby: Reds hope to end run of poor results

The Jersey head coach has made sweeping changes to the team that began last Saturday – somewhat, he claims, down to pre-meditated rotations and partly as a consequence of the performance last week.

Props Sean McCarthy and Mark Tampin will begin alongside hooker Jack Macfarlane, flanker James Doyle comes in for Max Argyle, while academy product James Voss gets his first competitive start of the season in the second row.

Joel Dudley and Sam Katz start in the half-back positions, George Eastwell and Jordan Davies make up the midfield, and Scotland international Jack Cuthbert returns at full-back.

That means there is no place in the match-day squad for former Ulster player Ross Adair.

(1-15): Sean McCarthy, Jack Macfarlane, Mark Tampin, Nick Campbell, James Voss, James Freeman (capt), James Doyle, Nick Haining, Joel Dudley, Sam Katz, Rich Lane, George Eastwell, Jordan Davies, George Watkins, Jack Cuthbert.

Replacements: Nick Selway, Jake Woolmore, Jake Armstrong, Uili Kolo’ofa’i, Max Argyle, Sami Fisilau, Lewis Robling.
