Rugby: Last minute loss for Reds

An excellent opening try from Billy Robinson was cancelled out by a touchdown from Jersey scrum-half Sami Fisilau, and hooker Nick Selway then bagged the hosts’ second off the back of a rolling maul to hand Harvey Biljon’s men a 14-10 lead at half-time.

The visitors pounced after the break to move 15-14 ahead through Jimmy Stevens, before the game swung back in Jersey’s favour – Selway crossing over again. However, they failed to hold on and conceded deep into added-time. Lawrence Rayner kicked the winning points after Tom Heard was forced over the line.

The losing-bonus-point defeat led to a drop in position for the Reds. They now sit fifth in the league table, with Rotherham and Nottingham a point behind in sixth and seventh respectively.
