Sport: Shadow board show their hand

After almost nine months of consultation with the local sporting community, chairman Phil Austin and his Shadow Board have delivered their initial report to Constable Steve Pallett, assistant minister at EDD with responsibility for sport.

The document, which sets out a long-term vision for Jersey Sport, recommends recruitment for a chief executive officer – described as a dynamic and high-performing individual who has strong commercial, leadership, and marketing and communication skills – begins immediately.

The CEO will receive a salary of roughly £80,000, while the pro-forma preliminary budget estimate suggests the entire organisation will require £1.15 million per annum to operate
