Playing against a side who have never won the competition, Wanderers twice came from behind at Springfield, with Moon cancelling out a double from Dom Pougeolle before claiming his third midway through the second half. An own goal from Shaun Heslop made it 4-2 late on before defender Martyn Samson grabbed the game’s seventh score.
‘It was the perfect time to get it,’ said Moon, discussing his first hat-trick in senior football.
‘I feel we dominated for most of the game. St Ouen still battled, and credit to them for that, but I think we worked a lot harder and deserved to win.’
