Football: Fee increase for junior players

From the start of 2016/17, the cost of affiliation for youngsters playing at under-11 through to U18 will rise by over 130 per cent, from £15 to £35, while there is a £10 increase, from £15 to £25, planned for those over the age of 35.

There will be no changes to the current £35 charge for senior footballers.

The fee alteration for junior players is the first since the JFA’s registration scheme came into play eight years ago, and Bob Lawrence, the governing body’s business manager, says the new figure still represents ‘tremendous’ value.
