Top eight finish for Duquemin

Top eight finish for Duquemin

With official rules stating only implements used in qualification may be used in the final, it initially looked as though Duquemin would have to continue competing with a stadium discus but, having realised their error, the TIC allowed the Jersey athlete to use his own implement on Thursday.

The 22-year-old was quick to put Wednesday’s chaos behind him, throwing a decent 59.39 metres with his third effort yesterday to secure three extra attempts for being placed in the top eight.

Although he was unable to better his distance with his final three throws, Duquemin said he was very pleased to have secured his first top eight finish at a senior championships.
