Jersey’s Serena Guthrie, as usual, was at the heart of England’s play yesterday, first at centre and then at wing defence. Putting herself about the court, she made numerous valuable interceptions for her team, and always looked dangerous as part of the attacking unit.
Guthrie, who was critical of the physicality of the Australians’ game on Saturday, said yesterday’s performance was the perfect response from her England team.
