Jersey lose bottom-of-the-table clash

The Reds put in an unconvincing display that was beset by mistakes, especially in the line-out, and the visitors only seems to find their spark in the final ten minutes of the game, when they scored the second of two tries to secure a losing bonus point.

The match began badly for Jersey, with centre David Bishop being sent to the sin-bin just 30 seconds into the match. Doncaster were able to capitalise with a try. Coming out in the second half just 8-3 down, Jersey had it all to play for but gave away two sloppy tries in quick succession.

A try for Nicky Griffiths, when the hosts were down to 14 men, proved that Jersey still had some fight, and they were given real hope when Ed Tellwright went over with five minutes to go. But despite pushing at the end, the Reds could not catch Doncaster and were left disappointed, ruing the mistakes made in the first 70 minutes.
