Two rather important observers are in the Island this weekend looking at the 21st JSAD Disabled Games.

Two rather important observers are in the Island this weekend looking at the 21st JSAD Disabled Games.

One is from Guernsey, as the Sarnians look to return to the competition, and the other from Southampton, investigating the possibility of staging a disabled games along the lines of the Island Games for able bodied sportsmen and women.

JSAD chairman Paul Patterson said:: ‘We have a couple of observers here this weekend looking at the Games.

‘Guernsey are attending with a view to possibly take part next year again and maybe look to put on a competition for themselves.

‘Paralympics journalist Andrew Heeley is also in the Island from Southampton and he is looking at the Games with a view to possibly setting up an ‘island games’ event in the future.'
