JERSEY RFC centre Ashley Maggs was banned for two weeks by an RFU disciplinary panel last night after being red-carded for a dangerous tackle away to Bristol on 11 November.

Immediately suspended by Jersey RFC for a week, the ban, in effect, is for three weeks, which means Maggs misses the Newcastle Falcons home game this Saturday and, even more crucially, the away game against fellow RFU Championship strugglers Doncaster Knights on Friday, 30 November.

It is possible that the Island club will appeal against the verdict.
