FORMER Island golf champion Gavin O’Neill will focus hard on retaining the Jersey Golf Union’s PBS Order of Merit title next year.

The 35-year-old plasterer took the accolade for the fifth time this year and he received his prize at the annual PBS Awards Presentation Evening held at La Moye Golf Club on Saturday.

It was an historic night for the Jersey Golf Union as on show were the maximum four team trophies won against Guernsey in inter-island matches home and away.

After welcoming and thanking a host of sponsors for their support throughout the year, JGU president Renzo Martin ran through the highlights of the season.
