JERSEY will run out at the Memorial Stadium on Sunday to face a Bristol side who are still reeling from their 63-7 thrashing at Nottingham.

For the visitors, the game represents another chance to claim a big-name scalp in English rugby following success last season against the likes of Coventry, Rosslyn Park and Blackheath. Ben Harvey’s side have been buoyed by a four-match unbeaten run that moved them off the bottom of the Championship table, and the director of rugby admits his team have nothing to lose.

Harvey’s counterpart Liam Middleton is a man under pressure following the shellacking his team received at Meadow Lane last Sunday. The result left Bristol, table-toppers last season, languishing in eighth position in the league table with just three wins from eight games.

Some observers have predicted the South African head coach’s job could be under threat should Jersey continue their winning run at Bristol’s expense, and Middleton admitted there was a need to deliver a performance.
