JERSEY Scottish gave St Peter a lesson in finishing last night at Springfield as the champions won 5-1 to move two points clear at the top of the Jersey Football Combination Premiership division.

St Peter squandered three chances in a bright opening only for the Scots to reply with four efforts in the first half, three of which they converted.

Two further goals before the hour put the game out of St Peter’s reach though Steve Holt capitalised from ten yards to bag a deserved consolation.

Richard Russell and Aaron Parkinson went close for St Peter early on before Phil Kendall was denied by a fine block from goalkeeper Craig Fletcher.
