Condor have confirmed that the Rapide, which was carrying 371 passengers and 31 crew at the time, was sailing into St Malo harbour from Jersey when the incident happened at about 10.45 pm on Sunday.
No one was injured during the crash and the ferry company has said that it has launched a full investigation into the incident.
The crash has not had any impact on the Rapide’s sailing schedules.
