Thousands raised at Gorey Fete

The usual spaghetti-eating competition, yard of ale contest and bonnie baby contest all featured as part of the day’s festivities.

The event, which was first held in 1947 as the St Martin Gymkhana, raises thousands of pounds for charity every year and Danny Wherry, one of the organisers, says that this year was no different.

Mr Wherry added that the organisers had this year made a number of new additions to the event including bringing over a competitive eater, Adam Moran – also known as ‘The Beard’.
