For Senator Gorst to ignore public outrage and reinstate Senator Philip Ozouf is appalling and proves the low level of regard that the Chief Minister has for the people of this island – those who pay his salary.
If Senator Gorst honestly believes that Senator Ozouf is in no way to blame for the Innovation Fund fiasco, then he must place the blame squarely on his own shoulders, as it was he who failed to transfer the responsibility to Senator Ozouf when he should have. Either way, Senator Gorst needs to go.
This is an interesting time, as it is now that the public of Jersey will be watching how States Members vote on this. If the Constables do not vote as their parishioners ask, they can expect to be ousted at the elections.
Clearly, the Council of Ministers will not be held to collective responsibility on this and those with an eye on the top job would do well to free up that job.
Constable Chris Taylor, I applaud you. If only the other parishes had a Constable like you and the lovely Sadie Rennard that we have in St Saviour, our island would be a far better place.
