Sean Kinsella from Absolute Adventures said he is concerned that children could be injured by broken glass on the beach after he arrived at work yesterday to once again find rubbish dumped at the western end of the bay.
He said: ‘I got down to the beach at about 8.30 am and found it. It had been left from the previous night.
‘There were a group of teenagers hanging around that area with a fire when I was closing up the night before – they generally hang out around there.
‘I am guessing they probably had too much to drink and were not able to take away their rubbish. I can picture the state that they would have been in. There were four to five glass wine bottles, a Champagne bottle, ten beer cans, a disposable barbecue, plastic bags and containers.’
Infrastructure Minister Eddie Noel said that there was scope for starting the department’s beach cleaning operations earlier in the season, but that he could only work within his department’s budget.
Mr Noel added that anyone who found a beach in an untidy state should report it through the Love Jersey app, or contact the Infrastructure Department on 445509.
