Police still investigating ‘horse stabbing’

Scarlet had to have stitches in her nostril following the incident almost three months ago. It is believed she was stabbed.

No one has been arrested but a States police spokeswoman said that the case had not been placed on file and officers were still actively investigating.

Shortly after the incident, an Islander connected to the animal said the horse had been targeted by a member of the local equestrian community.

The horse rider, who did not wish to be named, believed the attacker hid in bushes and waited for people to leave the yard in St Peter before stabbing Scarlet with a four-to-six-inch filleting knife.
