Family-friendly rave on the rooftop

Dancing yourself happy without ever going near a bottle of booze is probably an alien concept to most of us, yet that is the essential aim of The Awakening Club – a ‘sober’ rave that is returning to Jersey’s social calendar after a successful debut last year.

Organised by Laura Rosser, The Awakening Club is a family-friendly gig which aims to provide Islanders with a platform to dance and rave to the sounds of Jersey’s best DJs, but on a Sunday morning rather than a Saturday night.

Unlike last year’s inaugural event, which took place inside Havana nightclub, this second instalment will be held in the fresh air – weather permitting – at The View bar and terrace, on the ramparts of Fort Regent on Sunday 4 June.

It will run from 11 am to 1 pm, and Laura says it will afford revellers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a full night’s sleep and a lie-in, before raving above the rooftops without the cruel inconvenience of a hangover.

For those who want to groove on down to The Awakening Club next Sunday, tickets are available to buy from www.eventbrite.co.uk

A donation will be made to Help a Jersey Child from the proceeds of the sales.
