BA flights running again

On Saturday all British Airways flights were cancelled from Gatwick and Heathrow airport.

The airline blamed a power supply issue for the outage but said there was no sign it was under cyberattack.

Flights to London Gatwick were cancelled from Jersey on Saturday but BA flights from the Airport are now running as planned.

A spokesperson from the Ports of Jersey said: ‘Any BA passenger whose flight was cancelled should contact the airline directly to rebook. Current airline advice for BA passengers is not to come to the airport unless you have a confirmed reservation.

‘The airline has also advised that any BA passenger due to fly to or from Gatwick or Heathrow on Sunday or Monday who no longer wishes to travel, even if the flight is still operating can rebook to travel.’

BA aree hoping to operate the majority of their services from Heathrow today and are running a ‘near normal’ schedule from Gatwick.

In a statement on their website they said: ‘We are extremely sorry for the significant levels of disruption caused to customers and understand how frustrating their experiences have been.

‘We recognise the uncertainty that some customers may be feeling and have therefore extended our flexible booking policy.

‘Affected customers can claim a full refund or rebook to a future date for travel up until the end of November 2017. Customers are urged to keep any food, transport or accommodation receipts and can make a claim in due course through our Customer Relations teams.’
