Senior official at Health stands down

Ian Dyer, who is due to leave his post in July, held many roles in the department including director of services for older adults and most recently director of quality improvement, policy and practice.

A Health spokeswoman said Mr Dyer had decided to leave because of personal reasons and the department was looking to recruit a replacement for him.

She said: ‘The Health and Social Services Department can confirm that Ian Dyer has resigned from his post at HSSD.

‘Ian was for many years the directorate manager of mental health then director of services for older adults. More recently, due to Community and Social Services being restructured, Ian had taken on the new role of director of quality improvement, policy and practice.’

She added: ‘Community and social services will now undertake a recruitment process to find a new director of quality improvement, policy and practice.
