After being appointed the official law firm for the America’s Cup, Appleby announced support for a number of local causes, including the Heart Support Group whose primary aims are to provide support to those affected by heart conditions, to raise awareness of cardiac care in the community and to raise funds to help improve the cardiac facilities available in the Island.
As a result of the partnership, the firm is offering all staff the opportunity to be trained in CPR, courses which will be run at their offices on the Esplanade, and will also be running heart and health education sessions for staff.
The charity, which was formed in 2011 is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation and is run by volunteers who meet once a month. They have already achieved a number of aims, including:
