Jersey entry wins gold at Chelsea Flower Show

Curator Chris Purver and four colleagues from the foundation in Victoria Village in Trinity arrived at their stand on Tuesday morning to discover they had won a gold medal.

It was the eighth gold the foundation has won since it first entered the show in 1991.

‘I am delighted for the team back in Jersey as they have worked so hard behind the scenes and now it has paid off dividends,’ he said.

They left Jersey last week with almost 600 plants and spent two days dressing their stand in the Grand Pavilion.

The Chelsea Flower Show is regarded as the most prestigious of all garden shows.
