Plans for 200 first-time buyer homes

Andium Homes chief executive Ian Gallichan said that Warwick Farm, which is the former site of the States nurseries, would be a ‘fantastic’ site for dozens of new three-bedroom homes which could be sold for £325,000 to £330,000.

Mr Gallichan added that following the completion of several rental developments, Andium was now looking to build more homes to help what he called the ‘lost generation’ get on the housing ladder.

‘One of the sites we are suggesting is Warwick Farm at Mont à l’Abbé, which was suggested as a site for the new hospital,’ he said.

‘It’s a fantastic site for first-time buyers, location wise. It is currently owned by the States and needs to be re-zoned but it’s a huge opportunity to deliver a substantial number of homes.

‘It’s a big, big site so you could get 200 homes in there comfortably with good amenity space.’

He added that if permission was granted to go ahead with the development, the homes would be solely for first-time buyers.
