Hospital funding debate delayed – again

Treasury Minister Alan Maclean had previously suggested borrowing up to £400 million to fund the new hospital.

However, a late amendment from the minister instead suggested a significantly lower amount of £275 million.

Senator Maclean said that as Members needed to consider all of the available options, including the latest funding mechanism, he would delay the debate until the next States sitting.

It is the second time that the proposition has been delayed. Last month it was delayed to give Members time to consider an alternative funding mechanism proposed by Scrutiny.
