Alex Granger, head of care at the Silver Springs Care Home, said that she was still coming to terms with her diagnosis after doctors told her she had grade three breast cancer in February.
But now staff at the centre have organised a 12-mile walk in her honour to show their support as she fights the disease.
The walk, in aid of Jersey Cancer Relief, was due to start at Silver Springs Care Home at 8.30 am today before heading into Portelet, down into St Brelade’s Bay, up to Corbière and returning to the home.
