Gustavo Nuno Patricio Leirinha, who has already been placed on the Sexual Offenders Register, is due to be sentenced for trying to engage sexually online with people he believed were under-age girls.
Leirinha, of Les Cinq Chênes, has also pleaded guilty to possession of more than 200 indecent images of under-18s.
The court heard that a police investigation into the 19-year-old was launched last year after he responded to a fake account on the online dating site Badoo, set up by JEP reporters. The journalists posed as a 14-year-old girl and spoke online to the defendant. However, no charges resulted directly from the exchanges with the journalists.
The three charges brought against him resulted from police investigations that identified offending in 2015.
