Memorial to be held for woman killed in her St Helier home

The 51-year-old was found dead inside the property at 10 Victoria Street on 4 April. A pathologist found she had died from ‘compression to the neck by a third party’ and the States police launched a murder inquiry.

Mrs Rebelo’s husband, Alfredo, sons Jose and Luis, daughter Fernanda, her sisters Beatrice and Lurdes, and other relatives are expected to be present at the service, which is due to start at 6 pm.

A 58-year-old man is currently on bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Mrs Rebelo’s body is due to be flown back to the family home in Portugal, after £4,000 was raised by Islanders to cover the repatriation costs.
