Headteacher stands down

Jacqueline Bell-Cook, who has been headteacher at the school for the past eight years, is due to stand down from her post at the end of this term.

The news comes after a number of concerns were raised in December by parents worried about the high turnover of staff. Mrs Bell-Cook then spent some time away from the school.

At the time a letter was sent to parents from the Education Department saying Mrs Bell-Cook was absent because she was not well and the teacher turnover at the school was not exceptional.

Chief education officer Justin Donovan this week said the department wished Mrs Bell-Cook well in her new role.

He said: ‘Mrs Bell-Cook has decided to stand down at the end of this term from her current post at La Moye to pursue high level opportunities in education in the UK. We wish her well in her new endeavours and will now begin a recruitment process to find her replacement.’
