Bull terrier to be muzzled after attacking dog

The Magistrate’s Court heard on Tuesday that Buster, who lives with his owners in St Clement, ‘does not get on with other dogs’, according to his licence holder, Cleveland Roy Moon. Mr Moon appeared in court to answer a representation that his dog ‘be kept under proper control’. The representation was brought by the parish of St Clement under the Dogs (Jersey) Law 1961 following an attack on Ringo, a boxer dog, on 26 January.

Ringo’s leg was badly hurt in the incident and there was blood ‘all over the floor’, the court heard.

Buster had also attacked Ringo between four and six months earlier.

Since the incident in January, the Moons have kept Buster muzzled and on a lead when outside.

Assistant Magistrate Peter Harris said that the conditions were now a court order that meant that the dog must be kept on a lead and muzzled when taken out.
