Alzheimer’s association to benefit from the Battle

The charity which supports those whose lives have been touched by dementia will have a presence at both parades and will also receive 50p from every programme that is sold for the August event.

Mo Le Var, BOF chairman, said: ‘Battle of Flowers firmly believes it is important to support local community causes, and many people will be able to identify with the needs and challenges of this worthwhile charity.

‘Having a large captive audience in the arena over the two days of the event together with the pre-publicity the Battle of Flowers generates, we hope that the charity will benefit as much as our other previous charity partners, including Jersey Brain Tumour Association, British Red Cross Jersey and Jersey Cheshire Homes.’

Tickets for the two parades are now on sale but the official programme will not be made available until July.

Anyone willing to assist either the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association or the Battle of Flowers this year should contact Battle HQ by emailing battle@battleofflowers.com.
