In the next few months a further 16 businesses are set to be assessed with a target of 100 companies being reviewed by the Population Office by early next year.

In January ministers revealed that as part of the crackdown they would reduce the number of permits available to businesses to employ additional migrants.

In 2015 – the latest figures available – 1,500 people moved to Jersey. This is despite the States forming an Interim Population Policy to run between 2014 and 2016 which forecast an inward migration of 325 per year.
