Ten times round the Island… in ten days

Mother-of-two Ana Goncalves (51) plans to run the gruelling 48-mile Round-Island Walk route starting on Thursday 27 July and finishing ten days later, along with runners competing in the Round the Rock race, on Saturday 5 August.

In total Mrs Goncalves will run almost 500 miles and ascend 10,000 metres – higher than Mount Everest.

She is aiming to raise at least £10,000 for Headway, a charity that she has supported several times in recent years, and Cancer Research.
