Students walk 36 miles to raise thousands for charities

Conditions for the event were described as ‘perfect’, with the Met Office confirming that it took place on the warmest day of the year.

David Sharrock, organiser and teacher, said that it was hoped it would raise around £10,000, which would be distributed between Jersey Hospice Care and Cancer Research UK.

He said: ‘Any additional money raised from that goes to our school charities committee, who divide it between other charities later on in the year.’
