The defendant was one of six men identified by JEP reporters during an undercover operation last year designed to expose the dangers of online child predators.
The journalists posed as a 14-year-old girl on chat rooms and dating sites and, without instigation, were contacted by scores of local men, many of whom wanted to engage in explicit chat or meet for sexual purposes.
Six files, all concerning men in Jersey, were passed to the States police, who launched an inquiry codenamed Operation Berry.
