Chef Mark Jordan to leave Atlantic Hotel in the autumn

But managing director Patrick Burke remains confident the hotel’s Ocean Restaurant can keep its Michelin rating for a 12th consecutive year even after Mr Jordan leaves.

Asked why he was leaving, Mr Jordan said: ‘I can say I made history here, which is important for me. I achieved four AA Rosettes and Michelin Star – there are only four hotels in Britain that have a Star and four AA Rosettes.’

He will stay in business with Mr Burke with the restaurant Mark Jordan at the Beach – the only eatery in the Channel Islands to have been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which indicates ‘exceptionally good food at moderate prices’.
