Long-standing feud led to stabbing in broad daylight

Serial offender Kamal Hussain (38) smashed a wine bottle on the kerb outside The Kiosk takeaway at Bel Royal before stabbing his victim – with whom he had had a feud since 2002 – in broad daylight.

The Royal Court’s Superior Number, which convenes only for the most serious cases, heard that the pair were known to one another after serving prison sentences in La Moye at the same time.

Advocate Julian Gollop, defending, also told the court that Hussain had been stabbed by the victim in Jersey in 2002 – leaving him with scars down his face and back – and assaulted by him again in 2009.
