Awards honour heart heroes

Held at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on Saturday, the awards were organised by the Jersey branch of the British Heart Foundation to recognise the outstanding contributions of Islanders in the fight against cardiovascular disease – one of Jersey’s biggest killers.

Hosted by ITV Channel Islands presenter Jess Dunsdon, more than 180 guests were on hand to cheer the winners, who were selected by a panel of judges.

More than £5,000 was raised for the life-saving work of the BHF, thanks to a raffle and online auction.

Several ‘money can’t buy’ experiences were bought in the auction, including opening ceremony tickets to the Cannes Film Festival, a table for ten at Henley Royal Regatta, a three-night experience at the US Masters golf tournament and VIP tickets to an Ed Sheeran concert.
