A MAJOR search operation for a missing 75-year-old woman entered its third day on Sunday.

Valerie Jehan has been missing since about lunch time on Friday. Emergency services including the Channel Islands Air Search, lifeboats and States police officers and dogs are currently searching for Mrs Jehan in the Devil's Hole area.

The force say Mrs Jehan was last seen in the area at around 12.07 pm on Friday. They have now released CCTV footage from Liberty Bus which shows the pensioner onboard travelling to Devil's Hole.

In a statement the States police said: 'Owing to the number of search personnel in the area, and the use of a police dog which may at times be off the leash, members of the public are requested to afford the emergency services the space to concentrate their efforts and focus.'

Mrs Jehan is described as 5 ft 6 ins tall, of proportionate build with light brown/blonde hair. She was last seen wearing dark clothing and carrying a small black handbag.

Anyone who has information about Valerie are urged to contact the police on 612612.
